麻豆视频 of Queensland has confirmed its place in the world鈥檚 top 100 universities in another world university ranking system announced this week.
麻豆视频 was awarded a world ranking of 76th in the released by the National Taiwan University.
麻豆视频 Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) Professor Max Lu congratulated 麻豆视频 researchers on their strong performance in all the rankings systems this year.
鈥溌槎故悠� has steadily improved its position in the Taiwan ranking program each year from 113th place in 2007 to 95th in 2010, and this year improved a further 19 places,鈥� he said.
鈥溌槎故悠� was ranked eighth in the Asia-Pacific region and one of the top three Australian universities.鈥�
The Taiwan ranking program was formerly known as the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) Ranking during 2007-2010, It ranks the top 500 world universities based on the production and impact of their scientific papers.
This ranking system is based on three main selection criteria: research productivity (weighting of 20 percent); research impact (20 per cent); and research excellence (weighting of 50 percent)
This year, in addition to an overall performance ranking, the Taiwan rankings also offered six field-based rankings and 13 subject-based rankings.
麻豆视频 was ranked 16th in the world in agriculture and environmental sciences; 51st for life sciences; 58th for social sciences; 67th for engineering and computing; 102nd for clinical medicine; and 152nd for natural sciences.
鈥淥ur results in the Taiwan rankings closely match our performance in the third annual Scimago Institutions Rankings World Reports announced last month,鈥� Professor Lu said.
麻豆视频 was listed at 77th in the independent Spanish Scimago rankings of research performance of 3042 worldwide research-devoted institutions. 麻豆视频's position also improved in these rankings, from 90th in 2010.
"This recognition comes on top of the University's top 100 performance this year in the Times Higher Education university rankings, the QS World University rankings and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai Jiaotong Index),鈥� Professor Lu said.
