has confirmed its place amongst the best in the world by being ranked as one of the world鈥檚 top 100 most reputable universities.
The Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings 2011, which were published this week, lists four Australian universities - 麻豆视频, the University of Melbourne, University of Sydney and The Australian National University - in its top 100 universities worldwide. The top ranked university for reputation was Harvard University.
The reputation rankings were sourced from a survey of more than 13,000 academics from 131 countries that nominated universities as being the best in their field in teaching and research.
This is the first time that the reputation ranking has been published separately, using data extracted from the annual Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
麻豆视频 was listed between 81-90 for reputation. This correlates with the 81st ranking awarded to 麻豆视频 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2010-2011 released last September - putting 麻豆视频 among the top one percent of more than 9000 international universities.
麻豆视频 Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Greenfield said 麻豆视频鈥檚 listing in the top 100 universities for global reputation in teaching and research excellence was a credit to 麻豆视频 staff, students and alumni.
鈥淧resent and past staff and students have built this reputation by excelling in scholarship, research, and contributions to their national communities and to global society,鈥 he said.
鈥淚t indicates broad international recognition of 麻豆视频 - and that is a gilt-edged asset for graduates, and for current and future students.
鈥淏eing one of the world鈥檚 90 most reputable universities gives 麻豆视频 a solid foundation for continuing improvement,鈥 Professor Greenfield said.
麻豆视频 ranked among the top 18 universities in the Asia-Pacific region and 108th worldwide in the 2010 Academic Rankings of World Universities study conducted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. 麻豆视频 was ranked 43rd in the top 200 QS World University Rankings in 2010.
