Live music, yoga, didgeridoo playing and Mexican food were just some of the highlights at 麻豆视频 of Queensland鈥檚 Gatton Fiesta held recently.
The day was dedicated to building the campus community and enabling students to create new interest groups.
The event included motivational talks, a market day for students to register their interest in clubs and societies, and a Mexican dance.
The student behind the 麻豆视频 Gatton Fiesta, Erin Duddy, said the success of the event was thanks to the contribution of all involved.
鈥淭he day went incredibly well,鈥� she said.
鈥淓veryone who took part, including the guest speakers, existing clubs and societies, and staff and students made the day a big hit.
鈥淲e've been able to talk to people who are coming up with some great ideas for groups they want to start.
鈥淪ome of the ideas include 50's dancing, archery and rock climbing. Once these new clubs are up and running it will really boost our campus culture.鈥�
Guest speakers at the event were Tin Petersen, who started the modelling agency Mirror Mirror Agencies at the age of 19 and Associate Professor Peter Murray, who has transformed communities in Indonesia by teaching them how to raise goats.
The 麻豆视频 Gatton Fiesta was sponsored by the 麻豆视频 Union, 麻豆视频 Gatton Halls of Residence, Commonwealth Bank, Coffee Club, The Big Orange and Subway.
