14 February 2011

The flood of 11-14 January 2011 has had an impact on travel options for staff, students and visitors to the St Lucia campus.

With the destruction of the CityCat pontoon, one of the three major transport modes to the campus has been lost for some time.

The loss of the CityCat service has had the undesirable effect of placing further pressure on bus and private vehicle transport options.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Property & Facilities division is consulting with providers of public transport to pursue methods to alleviate this pressure.

To ensure that you have all the information required to make an informed decision on which option to take, Â鶹ÊÓƵ Property & Facilities division has provide the following parking updates:

Casual Patrons

The manner in which casual parking in the Multi-level car parks is managed has also been revised and altered to raise the parking controls above flood level and to bring the Multi-levels in line with all the other parking facilities on campus.

Casual parking in the Multi-level car parks will now be managed by Pay & Display infrastructure.

Casual patrons will be restricted to Levels 3 & 4 of both car parks. Levels 3 & 4 of each car park have four credit card or coin operated Pay & Display machines.

The daily tariff remains at the 2010 level of $5 per day.

There are no changes to the conditions of use for permit holders for the Multi-level Car Parks:
• the guaranteed parking status is unchanged;
• access to parking on all levels is unchanged (however, please try the lower levels before moving up);
• 2010 permit rates remain unchanged ;
• A valid permit must be displayed at all times.
