International cricketing excellence was on show at Â鶹ÊÓƵ last week for the Emerging Players Tournament.

The competition provided an opportunity for the world’s best young cricketers to showcase their skills to national selectors.

Teams from the AIS, India, South Africa and New Zealand competed in both twenty20 and 50-over competitions.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ hosted three matches throughout the tournament, including the playoff for third place between the AIS and New Zealand in the 50-over competition.

Australia started the tournament strongly, defeating India by 25 runs in the twenty20 final.

The 50-over final between India and South Africa was washed out, with South Africa declared the winners having remained undefeated in their three group matches.

A number of players at the tournament have already represented their country at the highest level, including Australia’s Callum Ferguson, Moises Henriques and Josh Hazlewood.
